Getting to the
Hotel
By car
To find out how to get to Cranley Gardens, wherever you are
driving from, we recommend you use the RAC's route planner -
www.rac.co.uk
- Please note that as of the 19th of February 2007 the
hotel is now in the Congestion Charging
Zone recently implemented in Central London.
This charge applies every weekday from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm and
cost £8.00 per day. Tickets are available for sale in
several petrol stations and newsagents or can be purchased on
the Congestion Charge website.
www.cclondon.com
. The charge needs to be paid before midnight on the day of
travel. It is recommended to purchase your ticket in advance.
Note: Parking at the Hotel:
Parking is Free of charge on the single yellow line in front
of the hotel, everyday between 6.30pm and 8.30am, Saturdays
after 1.30pm and Sunday and Bank holidays.
During weekdays and daytime, you may leave your car on parking
meters available round the corner from the Hotel and for a limited
amount of time. Alternatively, a 24h private car park is available
on Gloucester Road, minutes away from the Hotel for approximately
£30.00 a day. Be cautious! Fines and penalties are extremely
expensive in Central London and you are only given a short while
before your car is clamped or towed away.
Car Hire:
Should you wish to hire a car, we recommend Miles & Miles
(+44 207 591 0555 or www.milesandmiles.co.uk).
Prices are reasonable and service is good. However, bear in
mind that parking around the hotel is tricky – be vigilant!
By train
For trains to central London please visit www.nationalrail.co.uk.
From Europe please visit www.eurostar.com
From the train station you may take a taxi (expect to pay approx
£25.00 from Kings Cross / St Pancras / Liverpool Street
stations, £12 from Victoria and Paddington and £15.00
from Waterloo), or hop on the underground until Gloucester Road
Station.

By plane
From Heathrow Airport
- Underground (preferred option): Take the Picadilly Line into
town and get down at Gloucester Road station. The Hotel is 5
mn walk from the station
- Heathrow Express (www.heathrowexpress.com):
£15.00 for express train to Paddington Station. Add approx.
£12.00 for the taxi journey to the hotel
- Taxi: expect to pay approx. £40.00 for the journey from
the airport to the Hotel.
On your way home, trips from the hotel to the airport may be
made by minicab for the price of £30.00 – Please
ask reception.
From Gatwick Airport
- Gatwick express (www.gatwickexpress.com)
: single ticket is £16.00, excellent value for money,

take the Circle Line to Gloucester Road Station (Underground)

From Luton Airport
(www.london-luton.co.uk):
Thames links King's Cross station and Luton Airport for £
10.00 and take about ½ hour. Getting to/from King's Cross
Station from/to the Hotel by underground (Circle or Victoria/Picadilly
lines £1.60) or by taxi (approx. £11.00)
From London City Airport
The following link offers different options to complete the
journey from the airport to central London. (http://www.londoncityairport.com/index.php?page=lcyToCentralLondon)
However, we recommend that you take a taxi from the airport
to the hotel (approx. £26.00) which will save you a lot
of trouble
Note: Difference between
Taxi (black Cab) / Minicab:
Minicabs are private cars for hire and most of them charge a
fixed price for their routes. However be wary as some companies
sometimes try to rip off the tourists. We can recommend some
companies to you, that we use regularly. Short trips are not
such good value and black taxis usually work out to be cheaper.
London Taxis ("black cabs") can be stopped anywhere
in London street as long as their little light is on! Allow
extra time in rainy weather and make sure you have some change!
